With Ramadan right around the corner, the recipes will be focused on food that can be created when you're bleary eyed and half awake! The first in the instalment is a date and almond smoothie. It's free from artificial sweeteners (yet quite sweet), quick to make and extremely nourishing in preparation for the long fasting days.

1/3 cup unsweetened medjool dates (or any dates you like, as long as they are soft and fleshy)
1/3 cup almonds (whole if you like a crunchy texture, flaked or flour if not)
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup natural yogurt
nutmeg, grated (optional)
